The Great Lego Project

A blast from the past today since I'm extremely busy sorting out for a party next weekend and making the most stupidly time consuming costume ever for book week.

This was a couple of years ago (2012) but we cleared everything out of the conservatory and used all our our construction toys (and quite a lot of masking tape) to make what was named "The Great Lego Project".

I masking taped off two part circles - one labelled 'Earth', and the other labelled 'Moon' (specially for the space lego kit), and then we got building.  This went on for weeks, gradually adding more buildings, even using our Jenga at one point (as if all this wooden railway, lego, marble run and K'Nex wasn't enough!)
Turns out we've got a LOT more construction kit than we first thought ...

And a Late Finish

Following on from the sunrise of last year, we've been out watching sunsets this week.  Not a lot to say other than the Wye Downs is a pretty awesome spot so I shall just go for pictures with a few captions.

Oh, also, take your kids to do this, but wear wellies and take gloves!

With a stick they found on the floor which 'looks like the number 7' - which was later used as a scythe to cut up handfuls of long grass (which are now all over the floor of my car)

Nearly gone ...

Dear Lorry Drivers ...

Today we've been having a busy day.  Among other things we went to see "Frozen" at the cinema (which is awesome, by the way), and on the way we stopped off at a local motorway bridge for a quick 15 minutes of waving.

Fortunately the traffic picked up a little from the point at which I took the picture
Waving off a motorway bridge might sound like a peculiar hobby, but it's something we've done periodically for years, and the kids love it.  I have to admit that despite being a grown up, I still find it quite exciting when someone waves back, or flashes their lights, or honks their horn (or, in the case of one very exciting lorry driver this afternoon, all three!)

So today's score was 102 waves - not bad for a quick 15 minutes on the way to the cinema

So, to fully finish the title:
Dear Lorry Drivers,
If you see a slightly crazy lady and a group of small children waving at you from a motorway bridge, please wave back, or flash your lights, or honk your horn (if it's safe to do so!).  We would very much appreciate it.

Thanks.
